Torque settings 1275 engine

Hi moggie masters does anybody know the torque settings for the various engine parts on the 1275 morris marina as due to oil leaks will be probably changing a few engine gaskets and want to do it correctly please

What do you specifically require?
Here are a few taken from the Marina wksp manual.
All in lbf ft
Big end cap nuts.........................35
Main bearing caps.......................60
Cylinder head nuts......................50
Rocker shaft bracket nuts............25
Gearbox adapter plate.................25
Flywheel securing nuts................40
Sump securing bolts....................6
Oil pump securing bolts...............9
Camshaft nut .............................60-70
Timing cover
1/4" bolts...................................6
5/16" bolts.................................14
Water pump...............................17

thank you Phil .All those are useful.As previously advised will be looking for oil leaks so anything on the engine that may leak.The only other I can think of is the inspection covers if you were able to get it please.

If you mean the tappet/cam follower covers - there are no tappet/cam follower covers on a 1275cc 'A' Series. The N/S of the block is solid therefore no covers. To remove the tappets/cam followers you have to remove the camshaft.

The question above was in relation to the 1275cc Marina/Ital engine - but to clarify - the 1275cc classic Cooper S block does have cam follower access openings with covers.

Is the head gasket torque figure the same for a 1275 midget engine i.e. 50

Only if the head studs have a point, a dimple or a 'Y' on their top the torque setting is 50lbf ft.

Thanks for that I will check my studs I have only been tightening them to 40
