inlet manifold angle

Hi,
I know that you cannot use a Mini inlet manifold on an inline application because it angles the top of the carb up so it hits the bonnet but on my inline application, this is not an issue...just.
However as a matter of interest how much higher is the top of the HS2 or HS4 carb (the piston damper) above the rocker cover (or the filler cap) on a MM?

You can use a classic Mini inlet manifold on an inline 'A' Series engine application i.e. Morris Minor engine but you should use the correct classic Mini carb as the angle of the float chamber is different to that of a Minor.
If the classic Mini SU carb dash pot is near hitting the underside of the bonnet you must be utilising it on say a MG Midget/Sprite. There is plenty of clearance for the HS2/HS4 carb when fitted to a classic Mini manifold and fitted to a Morris Minor.
A bit more clarity as to your application would be appreciated.
