Boomlander asked
PS What's the weather like in your area?
so I thought we might have a Topic for that question....
We're just on the edge of the Midlands Amber warning, about 15 miles east of Nottingham, but snow is only about 2" deep at the moment.
We're currently getting random heavy showers of about 1 minute duration then stopping....

but they're forecast to continue for next few hours.
What's it like where you are?

We're in the Amber warning area in Essex. Sunday gave us about two inches of snow settled on cars and lawn, but paths and roads stayed clear. Monday morning is much colder and 3 -4 inches snow settled everywhere. Forecast says waves of snow and staying below zero, and that's exactly what we're seeing,

Silsden in West Yorkshire.
Woke up to a light covering over everything maybe 1/2" deep, but roads are clear so far, it just keeps doing very light snow showers and then sunny intervals.

without being critical of any aspect of snow and driving, It always amuses me when the news is dominated by snow reports,Its winter and it sometimes snows

.Back in my Youth in the sixties ,most car owners/drivers just got on with it .You either drove in it or stayed at home.I used to deliberately go out in it as often as possible .Found it great fun and a challenge .Most of my driving friends had winter wheels with Town and Country Tyres which we fitted when there was snow about.
Mind living up in the artic North east we got used to it sooner than the tropical south'
.Of course there were a lot fewer cars about on the roads back then so four wheel drifting round bends with full opposite lock in a rear wheel drive Austin 8 wasn't quite so dangerous as now.
Then along came the Fwd mini They were boring ,had to pull handbrake on to get the same buzz
Happy days.

100% agree, the news makes it worse than it is.

Had 16” on Monday, mostly cleared away now. Luckily the cars are not going anywhere for a while - like June maybe...

Yesterday we had what is commonly called ‘Shelaghs Brush’ the next storm after St Patrick’s Day and traditionaly the last significant snowfall of the season. Here’s hoping springs round the corner and they stop throwing that damned salt on the roads...
