big - I got my mechanic to undo it for me when I was in there and then drove home with it finger tight and pulled the steering wheel off then. Dad has got his ½" drive socket set with larger sizes back from his brother but I'm not sure if that has the right size in it.

If no one knows off the top of their head I can most likely find out for you as i need to take mine off again as the indercators aren't self cancelling at the mo.

My '62 948 uses a 3/4 Whitworth for steering wheel nut. I understand from previous correspondence that Series 11s need a 7/8 whitworth Box Spanner.

Hi Steve,
Sorry about being late - was fiddling with #14 +generally enjoying life instead of being online.

You want a 33mm socket from Halfords. It also fits the cap on rear of M/C (if/when fit remote reservoir)

cold chisel is crude but never fails....

tip: once you get the nut off, don't sit in the drivers seat and just pull...you'll end up with a bloody nose or worse (think dental bills!)

btw hi everyone...haven't posted for yonks :D
