1963 rear main scroll seal.

The main bearing on my 1963 1098cc motor was making a noise so a nice winter project I thought.
Engine out and sure enough the mains are goosed, the big end shell is the one on the left.

But I found this as well, The marks you can see can be felt only just when you run your finger nail over them.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for it or am I looking at another block because it’s a waste of time doing anything to it if the rear seal is going to leak.

I'm not keen on the rear seal mod you can get, I've read to many bad things.

If you do need a 1098 block with caps, I have one.
