I am posting the link below not because the engine is for sale but because of the oil pump.

The oil pump is unusual any information would be appreciated.

Does it not look similar to the one listed at 57 on the below Moss catalogue?

The pump in the MOSS listing is a concentric rotor whilst I suspect the pump fitted to the 803cc engine in the link is a early vane type.
I am asking the question as I have not seen that type/style of pump body before.

Standard 803cc oil pump, made by Hobourn Eaton who supplied many manufacturers.

Thank you for that information.
Digging into the BMC Wksp manual it appears that the oil pump is a Burman rotary vane type and may have been fitted to some 803cc engines from engine No: 194195. How many were fitted overall I do not know - I have seen quite a few Hobourn Eaton rotary vane oil pumps over the years but cannot recollect ever seeing a Burman and that was why I was intrigued to know a bit more.

I may still have the one I removed from my 803. If I can find it you can have it if you want.

Many thanks for the offer which I will decline as I now know what the make and style of oil pump is.
