Hello

I would be extremely grateful for any advice about a product/ way of attaching a bike rack to a traveller?

I suspect that the two of us, a cat, cat basket and provisions for holiday without going into any shops (we must still shield), might preclude room in the rear bay for my bike and wouldn't want to miss some hilly rides!

You can now get a bike rack that fits onto a tow ball there very good and really secure I have used one on my motorhome for a few years with no problems. You obviously need a tow bar fitting and the racks aren't cheap

A much better option than using the roof though - particularly on a car like a Traveller where the roof has dubious structural strength.
I have used roof racks on my Traveller in the past but was never entirely happy about it.

I would suggest a towbar mounted bike track too!

How well does the cat travel in a traveller?

Get yourself a folding bike.

We've carried two bikes regularly on one of these cheapos - very easy to clamp on.
Back in the day I used to carry bikes laid flat on a Traveller roof-rack & tied on with baling twine.

I would not fit a bike carrier to a tow ball as there is the possibly of the rack moving on the ball.

This is a better style of bike carrier and is much more secure.

The mount bracket fit between the tow bar bracket and the tow ball.
I have a similar bike carrier and have carried my bikes over several thousand miles with no problems or difficulty.

We regularly carry two bikes on a Thule bike rack on our tow bar and the rack has never moved on the ball. This was on our modern car, not on our Traveller.

I have also used my Thule ball mounted rack for the last 6 years I find it very secure and after many thousands of continental miles it has never moved
