Thermostat Success!

After reading many horror stories about removing the thermostat - i was surprised to get it off after a hours work.

Its been on there for at least 13 years & looking at it i'm glad to clean it up.

I worked it gently with a dead blow hammer and prised it up with two very wide screwdrivers slowly.

Reassembled after cleaning and testing the thermostat, removing the silicone and replacing with the appropriate gasket, lightly greased to aid sealing

:D :D

Anti seize grease on those studs will aid disassembly at the next 13 year interval, I believe some people have drilled the thermostat housing holes oversize a little too. Well done.

For sure. I cleaned the studs and threads & coated with anti seize. No silicon to make a mess either

All you need is a smear of LM grease on the gasket plus 'Copper Ease' on the studs.
