Hi all.
Hopefully this is easily answered..
We have recently replaced all the brake cylinders, shoes, defective pipe, fluid and the brakes seem to be working. A bit of bother with the bleeding but got there in the end.
Tomorrow I am replacing both handbrake cables. One is almost worn through so I thought it would be prudent to replace both.
Parts have been delivered by ESM. Does anyone know if the new cables need greased? I would have assumed not being new parts. I havent seen these yet as they are at my Dads house. However he has looked at these and has posed the question.
If they do need greased is it advisable to grease before or after fitting? Im guessing some grease on exposed parts after fitting would be a good idea.
Thanks in advance
Charlie.

Re: Handbrake Cables
Grease them, watch the grease appear from the end of the cables. You’ll know for sure that they’ve be done then,
Re: Handbrake Cables
The outer cable should be fitted with a grease nipple, and that's a big clue

Not all the remanufactured cables have a grease nipple. They should be lubricated from the factory, handling the inner cable will soon tell you.

Re: Handbrake Cables
ESM only list handbrake cables with grease nipples.

Grease the cables before fitting and pull the cable through each way to its full extent so as to spread the grease along the inside of the outer cable. You cannot have too much grease inside a handbrake cable.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll get the grease gun out.
