could someone please advise what size is the castle nut on the Series II (1953) rear passenger side wheel shaft?

Someone told me its a UNF 5/8 reverse thread anyone who could confirm please?

Looking at the photo above it looks to be a L/H thread - but only one nut is listed Pt No: AAA1097 (MOSS). Currently not available.

it was actually a 5/8 UNF normal thread tried it and it fitted do you know the torque setting byu any chance please?

Perhaps check with some of the Series MM experts, either on here or on Facebook, as it looks as though you’ve got the earlier Nuffield axle in your SII

I’ve had a look in the workshop manual, and from what it says, the thread in BOTH sides is right handed. There’s no torque figure given, which suggests to me it’s just a case of ‘doing it up tight enough’.
