Another carpet question

I have fitted a new set and am very pleased with the result. I would do it a little different next time(I cut the piece below the back seat to the length of the seat but on reflection it would have looked better returning a little around each corner.)

My main query is should the rubber and metal plate by the gear stick be fitted over the carpet? The carpet I removed was just cut around the rubber and the new one just has a round hole. It all just looks a bit half assed.
Thanks :D

If you mean the gearstick gaitor then yes, it should be fitted over the carpet. You'll just need to make some small holes in the carpet for the fixing screws.

The Insurance took it away. I did think that I would get to keep it ( I insured through the club.) but to be honest there was not much worth having.

When I rolled mine AON let me keep it for £50 but they still made me pay the glass excess!! I would have kept the rear clusters and bumper The little *&%^ around here seem to like "borrowing" the shiny bits from my car when i leave it out so i hang on to all the spares i can!
