Replacing Brakes

Hi All.
Looking for some advice. Our Morris Minor 1000 has been garaged for around 12 years. Consequently the brakes have seized. All new parts have been ordered and received from ESM. We did get the cheaper ones which one of the posters didnt recommend. Only read this after the parts were delivered. So far we have completed the following (after perusing previous posts):
[*]Replaced rear cylinders and linings. The original bleed nipples were cleaned and reused. These seemed to be a good fit.
[*]All the replacement cylinders match the existing ones.
[*]Replaced cylinders and linings for one of the front wheels.
[*]The copper and flexible pipes all appear to be in good condition.
[*]There is still brake fluid in the master cylinder and no sign of any historical leaks.
[*]The removed cylinders appear to be seized which I guess is good news.
[*]We received 4nr new bleed nipples with the order. These came in pairs in separate bags. Both sets appear slightly different in length and shape of the nipple differs. Diameters are the same however.
[*]We wrongly assumed the 4nr were for the front wheels. Subsequently realised only 1nr required for each front wheel (with one of the front cylinders connecting to the flexible pipe). We had already replaced the existing nipples to the rear at this stage.
[*]We tried to fit one of new nipples on the new front cylinder. However this appeared to be a bad fit and actually stripped the thread of the new cylinder. Nipple then wouldnt tighten up. Obviously not good news so we re-fitted this cylinder to the front flexible pipe thinking it would be less likely to leak. I realise this may need replaced.
[*]The original nipple at the front doesnt appear to be a good fit for the new cylinder - unlike the rear.
[*]We havent fitted any others yet.
Guess the question is has anyone experienced this issue before. Would it be possible that the wrong nipples were sent with the order. Also are the nipples supposed to wind in tight until the point seals inside the cylinder? You would expect that the nipples would screw in tight without too much resistance. A bit reluctant to go any further until we get some advice.
In addition is it recommended to replace / refurbish the master cylinder if the car has been off road this length of time - even if replacing the cylinders work? We would be looking at that next along with bleeding the system and replacing brake fluid.
As usual any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Charlie.
