wear in rocker shaft

I am working on my seized 948 which promises to be a good engine. I've still not managed to free the pots but have been working on the cylinder head. I removed the valvegear to clean it up but had to abandon it because the rocker standards are seized solid, so I turned to my other spare engine 1098 low compression.

Although it looks as worn as the 948 one judging by the end rocker I removed from that, I persevered and cleaned it all up.

If it is noisy in operation I will look for new parts. I bet it didn't take long for them to wear like this either.

It is unusual for the rocker bushes to wear. The wear always seems to be on the rocker shaft. You may find that replacing the rocker shaft is all you need to do to get the rocker assy back into a serviceable/workable condition.
