Marina /Minor thermostat housing

When fitting a 1275 Marina engine in a Morris Minor , the thermostat housing and the top radiator out let, are at a poor angle , resulting in the top hose being bent at quite a severe angle ,which doesn’t look good and is not good re engine movement . Is there another alloy housing which is more compatible ? Or do I cut and weld an original shaped one ?

There are at least three different thermostat housings fitted to the MGB.
I suspect that the one mentioned above is the following as it looks very similar to the one listed in my post above.

Whilst the MGB thermostat housing may fit the angle of the outlet does not look right compared to the DMG item.
To compound my concerns I have a NOS MGB thermostat housing Pt No: 12H2447 and offering it up to the 1275cc cylinder head it does not appear to be at the right angle to meet the Minor radiator inlet.
This is the type of NOS thermostat housing I have used to compare:-

This is what is fitted to mine

Edit: I also galvanized the studs to prevent the alloy corroding and enlarged the holes slightly.

i do the same. i run a slightly larger drill bit through the holes. I also use stainless bolts (not studs) and anti-seize paste (food grade).
I'm just bought one of those stat housings. Thanks.
