12G295 head on a 948 block

Hi
I've bought a 12g295 cylinder head to have refurbished and fit onto my 948 block. The block will be kept standard/untouched.
After trawling through past posts I think I know what I need to do - just wanted to see if anyone could confirm this before diving in:

Cylinder head has head height of 2.75" so I need to have 60tho skimmed off?
Fit new valve guides. Should they be cast iron (these seem to be the ones commonly available)?
Fit new oil seals - the later type ones that are now available?
Fit a new set of double springs?
Fitting new valves - standard inlet and exhaust. Is there any advantage to having stainless steel ones?
Fit a new stainless steel bypass tube (the current one is a rusty stub)
Is it ok to use the rocker shaft/pedestals off my Morris Minor? I've bought some shims to put under the rocker pedestals.
Or, is it worth replacing the whole rocker assembly / cam followers / pushrods?
Use a 1275cc engine copper head gasket?
Replacing the old cylinder head bolts for new high tensile ones (less likely to stretch apparently)?

Before doing any of this can a machine shop test the head for any cracks etc.. or is this a more specialist job?

Is there anything else I've missed? Any comments/help would be much appreciated.

Skim the 12G295 head by 0.060".

Fit the standard cast iron guides guides from ESM with the groove for the top hat seal.

The 12G295 head should have double valve springs. Make sure that the stepped bottom spring centralizing washer is in place and that the
top cap is the right one for twin valve springs.

The standard valves are more than adequate.

The standard mild steel bypass stub is more than adequate.

The standard Minor pressed steel rockers are more than suitable.

Use a set of the flat plates that are fitted on top of the rocker pedestals under the rocker pedestals to maintain rocker geometry. You may need to cut the corner off the plate to fit.

It will do no harm to replace the cam followers.

No need to use a 1275cc head gasket, a good quality 1098cc copper head gasket is all that is required.

Fit a set of later high tensile head bolts - no need to spend lots of money - a set suitable for a 1275cc Marina is more than adequate and can be torqued to 50 lb. http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... o%20search

A good machine shop can test for cracks.

Fit unleaded seats for the exhaust valves
