Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding

Post by edjones »

Hi folks,

I seem to be having trouble bleeding the hydraulic clutch (from a '68 Midget) on our Minor.

It bleeds ok i.e. no bubbles coming through, but I just can't get any feeling on the pedal unless I pump it a couple of times. Then, when pumped, it works fine until you next need to use it i.e. next time you change gear!!

It has a new remote reservoir and pipe, a new slave cylinder and a fairly recent flexible hose between the master and slave cylinder.

Any thoughts on how to do it "properly" would be appreciated as I have followed any and all procedures I can think of and am slowly going mad

Cheers
