Bumpers??

hello
i have a 1955 4 door mog and was wondering what people thorght of taking the bumpers off, because my friend said they look good, but i dont want to tyake them off and then it klooking stupid

Why would or should one take ones bumpers of? They have got a use you know..... Personally, the car looks weird without them, but thats my humble opinion

I think you will find that it is illegal to drive round with the bumper
mounting rods poking out ready to spear somebody! You can
remove the overriders if you think that the car looks better without
them but not the bumpers unless you also remove the mounting rods.
this is a bit difficult at the front as they are welded to the front wings!!

I have seen some beetles with just overriders, just like on the back of a XK120 jag. Looks splendid on the Jag, being sporty an'all, not very much so on the veedub
