I have fibreglass rear wings and boot lid. They all have craze marks in them. Anyone know how to get rid of them before repainting.

STEVE, I had cheap fibre glass rear wings on one of my Minors and
they cracked and crazed within six weeks!! I had a thick top quality
glass bonnet on my 1275 Midget which was still perfect after eight
years. If your intended boot lid has in-built metal plates at the
stress areas (i.e. hinges) and is thick I reckon it will probably suit you.

Steve, that's what I meant by top quality. My 'good 'bonnet had
inbuilt metal reinforcing at all stress points which convinced me that
the makers had done a proper job.

SR,
Contact Jonathon - he was setting up a lid for moulding a few weeks ago. It may be too soon for a commercial product, but he can advise you how it's goin.

Colin, thanks for the mention. We now have two types of boot lid available a standard one and a smooth one, i.e no number plate or light areas.
PM me for a price as I should not mention prices. The strength of a glass panel does'nt rely on its thickness but its construction. All of our panels are light weight yet increadibly strong and are treated to a double gel coat, the layer that in cheap panels is used only as a colour wash. If your panel is very badly crazed the bin it, if only a few crazes the grind them out and refill with filler or resin.
