Rear inertia reel belt installation

Folks, I’m looking for some guidance on fitting two inertia reel belts to the rear of a two door saloon.
I’m aware it can be done whereby the reels are installed under the rear shelf, for a more discreet look.
I got a quote from Charles Ware for the work to be done, which seemed reasonable to me. Couple of hundred pounds give or take a few pounds. If it weren’t for the distance (I’m in Scotland) I’d give them the go-ahead.
I’ve been told it’s possibly something I can install myself. Have any of you done this? I’m assuming there is no welding required?
I’m leaning more towards having a professional do it, unless it’s completely straight-forward, as I want it done right.
If any of you are in Scotland and know of Minor friendly garages anywhere it would be great to know where they are. (I’d even consider a reputable garage in the north of England at a push.)
