Another breather problem

Having followed jagnuts question, I have my own. I have run my set up for over a year with the pipe from the HS4 carb connected to the rocker cover pipe, see attached pics, with no problems or oil leaks. The oil cap is not ventilated. As it works, should I just leave it? , or could I connect the carb pipe to the tappet chest breather pipe (early type), and a small filter as jagnuts to the rocker pipe? All suggestions gratefully received.

It looks like at the moment you are sucking air from the top of the rocker cover, and the only way air gets into the engine is via the tappet chest vent pipe or any other leak paths.
It's a bit ar5e about face but hey if it works why not
Normally you would be pulling the air from the tappet chest via an oil catch can, the incoming air would be via the vented oil filler cap.
I converted mine to that set up and it sorted my oil leak from the scroll seal perfectly.
When the engine is ticking over, what happens to the revs if you remove the oil filler cap ?
Dont forget that the breather circuit also affects the carburation as well.

If its working I would leave it as is, however, the oil catch can is there for a reason, you may find that you get a hard oil deposit building up around the valves.
If you did decide to fit a tappet chest cover with an oil catch can, you need the correct one as the mini has a different pipe angle which requires cutting on an angle and the connection pipe extending or it will hit the bottom hose..
