Fuse?

Fan stopped working on the way in this morning, then I noticed that neither the wipers nor indicators were working either (and I just had the indicator switch apart at the weekend fixing the !*%£$ thing again).

Tried wiggling both fuses once I got to work but to no avail. I seem to remember they all come off the one fuse, is that right? If so, which one should I have a go at? Otherwise I'll be driving home with no indicators like last week -it's surprising how tolerant other driver are to that, OK maybe it's not that surprising... (cue a general rant on people not indicating etc. etc. )

And it's all been running so well recently, except for a sinking brake pedal (new m/c just ordered). Sigh!

Yes, several things electrical not working at once is likely to be a failled fuse.

BTW, fuses dont just blow. I had a few fail by corrosion between the element and the end cap. So looking through the glass, the element seemed ok, but a gentle twist of the end cap and the thing was in two discontinuous pieces! Or use a circuit tester to test for continuity across the fuse.

Last time, my local motor factors had the old style fuses in stock.

Your problem is with the fuse which has white wires on one side
and green wires on the other side. clean the fuse holder contactsfirst,
then you should have two spare fuses sticking out of the block. Try
a spare as a substitute, if no improvement I would clean all connections
to the fuse block. ( the 'white wire side appears ok because your ignition
didn't fail at the same time) so it is the 'green' side which is malfunctioning.

Well, I cleaned up the fuse contacts last night (both fuses intact) and stuff still didn't work (wipers, fuel guage). The indicators did work, but the little green light didn't, checked and there was 12V on the green wires from the fusebox. Changed the flasher unit and everything else started working again.
Confused.
Maybe there's a dodgy connection behind the dash. Maybe there's a dodgy crimp on the green wires. Maybe the laws of physics were taking a day off.

Anyway, it's working now. Still got the brakes to sort out on Sunday though :(
