Oil Control Rings

I have a choice to make very soon.

That is I have two sets of new piston rings for my new Karl Schmidt pistons and re-bored cylinders, the only difference between them is the oil control ring.
The Karl Schmidt set has a solid one piece oil control ring, the other Hepolite set has a three piece oil control ring with a wavy spacer and two thin rings.

Any advice or opinions on which to use would be most welcome.

Thanks
Phil

Before you do anything you must make sure that both types of rings are interchangeable with the piston ring groove by measuring the fitted rings.
Ring fit data is in the BMC wksp manual.

If they are interchangeable my preference would be to use the Hepolite 3 piece ring provided that there are holes at the back of the oil control ring groove to allow oil collected by the top oil control ring to drain back to the sump.

I’ll second that.
