One of the door cards on my traveller is wrinkled and looks unsightly. I haven’t attempted to tidy it up yet as the car is still at the workshop, but would be grateful for any advice as to how go about it.
Cheers

Remove the door handle and pull and fit a new one?

Thanks taupe. I was wondering if it was possible to stretch the material back into shape, but if not then ,as you say, I’ll replace it.

It's worth at least trying to tidy the existing one before buying new and then having one that looks 'different' to the rest. Without seeing yours it is hard to know, but maybe just the card itself needs replacing and the old material can be stretched over it (maybe carefully ironed on the underside to remove the wrinkles, with possibly something to eliminate direct contact of the iron). I think the material is just stapled on. Worth a try.

When you do re-fit either a new one or a refurbished one, make sure to cover the back of it with a sheet of plastic taped in place to keep the damp out of the card, otherwise it will absorb moisture and buckle again.

Thanks Phil. Good tip. I wouldn’t have thought of that.

Thanks myoldjalopy .
When I get the car back , I’ll see if I can do something with the card. As you say there might be a colour discrepancy, so if I have to ,I’ll replace both cards.

Its worth a try, Seth. Always nice to keep the original parts, if possible. :D
