Hi everyone
Planning a 1275 swap once I’ve built the engine, it will be a budget build, I’ve bought the back plate for 1098 gearbox, my question is can the marina clutch and flywheel be used with the 1098 gearbox? To save the cost of machining or buying a modified flywheel. Or any other configurations Possible to save the pocket

Short answer …..No. The Marina set up is too big to fit into the 1098cc bell housing.

You will need the ESM modified flywheel or have a 1098cc flywheel modified. The easiest is to purchase the ESM flywheel.

Did you purchase a 1098cc rear engine plate, a 1275cc Midget rear engine plate or a ESM modified rear engine plate?

The 1098cc rear engine plate can be made to fit but it does not leave a lot of metal between the rear main cap opening and the oil pump opening. Even the correct 1275cc Midget rear engine plates are prone to cracking in this area.

The photos below show up the differences between the 1275cc and 1098cc rear engine plates.

The top plate in all photos is the 1275cc plate.
