I believe that there is a difference in length of the shaft on an A series dizzy (Minor) to an A+ one(Ital) An ital, Mini or any other A+ item should fit (I'm sure somebody will jump in if i am wrong)

Lucas 45D4 and not the standard Minor one.

Virtually any 1300 A-series post 1980 car will do. My spare is from a Maestro and mine is made up from bits, but the body came from a Mini 1000.

But the Maestro one has electronic ignition on it, so depending on your needs, get the one which suits. A morning scouring the scrap-yards (or eBay) should yield positive results!

Doesnt the A+ dizzy also use a different sort of clamp to the moggie one

Yes it uses a fork type clamp and not the pinch bolt arrangement as found on earlier (pre-A+) engines.
