Rear Wing Bolts & Washers

Post by MichaelBeck »

What size are the washers for the rear wings? I have 2 larger ones for each side but forgot which bolt the larger washers go on and which have the 'standard' smaller size?

Thanks for your help

Each of the 8 securing bolts on a rear wing (I'm assuming you have a saloon not a traveller) should have a repair washer approx 1 inch diameter under the bolt head. 6 of these screw into a captive nut and should also be fitted with a spring washer as well. In case it isn't obvious, the order of these washers being the spring washer first under the bolt head followed by the large repair washer.
The 2 longer bolts, close together at the rear of the wing, go through the rear bumper bracket and the spring washer should then be inside the car prior to securing with a plain nut. THe repair washer should be directly under the bolt head,
Hope that makes sense!
If you don't have the original fixings it is good practice to purchase new ones. Any of the Minor specialists should be able to help with this I would think. BSF threads were used.
