Underneath the back seat of my series 11 tourer! Anyone has a spare cap for it please?

Hi,
I believe it is to do with maintaining the diff (topping up the oil?) and there should be a removable plate covering it.
I think with the advent of the later axle, with a filler hole in the back of it, this feature was deleted.
Someone else on here will be along to correct me if I'm wrong, however I bet finding a replacement cover plate will be a right pain.
Best wishes,
Mike.

I expect it would have been a large rubber blanking grommet. Four quid just about buys a 3 1/4” diameter one for a triumph TR6.

I don't know how big your aperture is, but there's a slight chance that the bung for the hole behind where the battery sits might fit? It was, according to ESM's website, used in MMs and SIIs but not later cars. If you measure your hole diameter, ESM may be able to confirm if this would fit it or no. Worth a phone call maybe? https://www.morrisminorspares.com/elect ... 70-p829864

The 'bung' is a metal circular plate with handle.
There is an illustration in the BMC wksp manual section H Fig H.1.

As jagnut said earlier, the correct item is a metal plate - although this might not be that easy to get hold of nowadays? Club spares possibly?

Me? I would cut out a (circular?) metal plate and fix with pop rivets, unless access is still required. A dose of silicone sealant, to prevent any water ingress, would likely be as good as a cork, or similar, gasket.

Supplier of grommet, I referred to earlier, was simply academic.

Hi,
See the link below and 'contact the seller'.
I bought a Series 2 radiator off this chap, I went down and picked it up (before the lockdown), so met him in person and he is okay to deal with.
He is breaking a complete Series 2 four door, I didn't look inside the shell but I'm sure he will for you to see if the plate is in there, he is not a Minor man though, so you will need to describe what you are looking for and where it should be located for him.
Best wishes,
Mike.
