Signature Images ----- (again....)

Post by woo »

I know this is an old chestnut, but I've searched the forum for how to add a picci of my car at the foot of the page, and have found this to put the following line in your signature:

written by Cam in January this year.
[image]http://homepag.ntlworld.com/cameron.sha ... vatar4.jpg[/image]

But replace the http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cameron.sh ... vatar4.jpg with your own weblink. Obviously your picture has to be uploaded somewhere on the internet for you to link to it!
{I have purposely changed Image

But if I enter the same quote in 'Sigature' in my profile all I get is text

Any ideas please? Also how would I centre the image?

Perhaps there should be a sticky how-to on this subject?

Well if you have the either side of the http://www.woolley.me.uk/moggieminor2.jpg in the signature then it should work fine.

If you miss out the / on the second img part it will not display. Check you haven't done this.

i.e.

[img]http://www.woolley.me.uk/moggieminor2.jpg[img]

I don't think you CAN centre it though. :(

Sticky how to is not a bad idea.......

Cam,

Thanks for your help.

Well, I've solved it. It's a bit confusing because updating the profile looks like you should click on 'Change your PostNuke Profile' and put your signature on the next page. If you do, it copies the signature text onto the first page but strips off the img header, etc. So to get it right it seems that you have to ignore the second page, update the signature on the first page including img etc. and press submit.

So I won't be giving the software many out of ten for being intuitive.

Yup, it's an odd one, that. Clearly not designed by a descendant of Issigonis. Another question that will seem very obvious to those who know - how does one go about displaying the 'PM' and 'email' links at the bottom of posts?
