distributer drive position
Im rebuilding the engine currently and trying to get the timing spot on. I have lined up the gears and put the timing chain on with the dots lines up so thats sorted. Im trying to get the distributer drive positioned properly, ive set the engine to top dead centre with no. 4 rocking and no. 1 on its firing stroke, looking at the drive slots position, the original position as found is not quite twenty to two but more like 17minutes to three ish, with the lower slot at the 17 minutes to position, or if a go the next engagment with the camshaft cog it is about 25 to two on the clock, that is the lower slot is on the equivalent to the 25 position, with the big segment at the top. Sorry if this sounds a bit confusing with all these clock positions. Thanks, matt[/img]

RE: distributer drive position
Well, as long as the distributor will sit at TDC and movement allowed to BTDC then just set it to whichever of the two positions allows for this.
RE: distributer drive position
It doesn't really matter - as long as the dizzy vacuum bellows doesn't foul anything when you set the timing.
