Short but sweet. Depailler was one of not too many, non Lotus drivers, to win a Grand Prix that year (Monaco), who sadly lost his life, at Hockenheim, in 1980.
Proper gear changing and the sound of the DFV is very atmospheric. It takes me back to hillclimbs, during the 1970s and even some of the first Grand Prix I ever saw. I've not seen one since Donington, in 1993 (A Senna demonstration) and that was mainly because it was Donington, which I had seen in it's disused days and I'd said to myself that if they ever got it going again, I would like to see a Grand Prix there (I have spoken to someone, who was a marshall at the pre war Grand Prix and if I could travel in time, I'd love to see those).
