Nuts?
I have just discovered what looks like wheel nuts attaching the rear damper link arms to the body of my '57 minor saloon. Does this type of nut sound right? or should it be something more standard as nuts go? Any feedback will help clear my confusion.

RE: Nuts?
it should be a "castle" type nut with a split pin and flat washer, not sure of the thread is at the moment.

Yes castellated nuts, without checking, not sure of the size but originally BSF. Wheel nuts are UNF so unless new mountings have been fitted, possibly with UNF threaded pins, then the wheel nuts will be the wrong thread. But ideally there should be some from of security i.e. split pin. I suppose "nyloc" nuts would be better than wheel nuts.
