I would think the main one is likely longevity. :D

I had one for almost 10 years before it packed up. It was the diaphragm which doesn't like the modern fuels. I bought a new one and sent Hardi an email asking if they could repair the old one. They replied quickly saying -no problem. I sent it off to them and it came back looking like new and the refurb cost 25€ and that was including the return postage. Pretty good service.

Thanks you everyone.

Declan, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and order a Hardi, after looking back through some old threads it seems it is good for some and not others, but then so is the SU so for half the price I can fit a brand new pump and still afford to send the old for reconditioning leaving me with a spare pump!

Pete,
The down side on the Hardi is the noise level. It amplifies on the bulkhead. When you install it fit it on two M6 rubber bobbins and you will need to connect a separate earth for the Hardi pump.
