Hello! Fuel gauge and wipers have both stopped working, checked fuses and none have blown - is there anything more obvious I need to check?

Lights and everthing else electrical all ok.

Sorry I'm learning!

The fusebox could be tired/faulty. Mine was, and my horn and courtesy light kept on packing up. Jiggle the fuses in their holders.
Since fitting a new fusebox I've had no problems in that area. They're pretty cheap, and well worth replacing in any case. 8)

No, the direction indicators are not working either...... any ideas? Maybe I should just replace the fuses anyway?

i should try to replace the fuse and if not faulty then try to clean the fuse box.

I'd suggest that the switched fuse has dirty contacts. After so many years your fuse contacts have got so dirty that the electricitycan't flow from the terminal through the fuse and out the other side.

I had this problem with my fuse box and decided to replace it with a modern fuse box with the bladed fuses (this means a bit of work but you can then put as many fuses on as you want)

If you don't want to replace the fuse box, get some good quality emery paper and rub the terminals until they are clean.

The fuse box contacts being faulty is very, very common. They often loose springiness as well, and don't grip the fuses tightly. If so, bend them back into shape GENTLY, but cleaning will probably do it.

Your items which are not working are all supplied on GREEN wires
which are fed from the fuse which has WHITE wires on the other
end. If the engine still starts and the petrol pump is still ticking
then that proves that the voltage is present on the WHITE side of
the fuse. So it appears that your fuse is NOT ok or the contacts
are dirty as has been suggested.
