Door Painting, trim tips and advice required please

What started as a polish has become a re-spray, wings off one replaced, windows out boot and bonnet off.

I have completed spraying the bonnet, boot and back wings and will re-fit these last (I hope this is correct as I have presumed the new blue piping to the rear wings should not be painted??)

Rear 1/4 repair panels all fitted, filled and primed.

I just need to know how to remove the felt things that are against the door glass, I have all new but am not sure how much stripping down the doors need. I have removed the 1/4 lights and rubber and all chrome bits.

I also intend to do as good engine bay spray as I can with minimum removal and just masking. I will do a better job when it is time to change the clutch.

Any help appreciated.

if you are talking about the felt strips that are fitted along the top of the door (between
the quarter light frame & the rear of the door, you need to level out the six spring
clips, (they usually break ,so i would suggest getting some replacments before you
start. best tool i have found is a "tack puller" a sort of screwdriver blade with a v cut
out of the centre. any more info give me a phone call 01206 231793
