New this time around and just received a private message.
Doh! How do I reply? Pressed submit but cannot see in my sent messages that it went through!

Private Messages stay in your outbox until the recipient opens it, I found this confusing when I first use private messaging.

I am so thick I have’t managed to get anything in my outbox even!

You’re doing okay, you have opened the PM, now all you need to do is click on “send reply” at top left, this opens “compose message”, don’t do any alterations I.e; no need to Add recipient when replying to a message.
Just type your reply in the big box and click submit, this puts it in your outbox until the recipient opens it, then it moves to your sent box.
You can’t send attachments unless it has changed recently
