it was the return springs gone weak although only 5 years old they were so soft compared to the new ones, fitted them on and all is fine ,

I suppose that its expensive to use the correct grade of spring steel. It just goes to show that parts are produced to a cost rather than the correct quality.

The expense puts some people off, so suppliers can’t sell enough, which lets in cheaper less quality stuff. This situation is why it so difficult to get parts that actually fit and/or last.
