Vacuum take off on Minisport manifold

I have a Minisport manifold on a 1275, with a mini type pancake air filter, and an HIF44 carb. There is only about 2cm clearance underneath the filter box, and there isn't room for the vacuum take off that I have. Can anyone recommend an alternative please? Pics below.

The marina/ital take off uses a banjo bolt and pipe. Does the minisport site not show options?

Any 5/8th banjo bolt and threaded pipe connector, the vacuum pipe just pushes on and will seal with a clip. Or fit an 1800 land crab air box.

Just use the block end of a oil transfer pipe - the one that goes between the block which has a 5/8" UNF banjo bolt and the oil filter housing.
Otherwise fit an additional spacer with longer studs between carb and manifold.

I expect a right angled fitting can very easily be fitted. End of problem, if ever there really was one?

The banjo fitting suggestion sounds the best option, should be well within the 2cm clearance you have, along with the advantage of being positioned in any direction.

You could also use a carb spacer with a vacuum take-off, like so:

Is that big enough for a servo take off? I think those are designed for a dizzy vacuum advance.

Ah, I didn't see servo mentioned anywhere. I wouldn't know but perhaps not!

Thanks all.
I will order an oil pipe banjo and bolt, that seems to be the easiest way.
I've looked online all over, but not found a right angle take off anywhere. I got an upright one from a local pipe fitting shop, but it's too tall.

Have a look at

Or do as Phil suggested and use the oil transfer pipe end.

Be aware the above link is for BSP banjo bolts which are not UNF thread or size, 5/8 BSP has an O/D of nearly 23mm.
Your manifold appears to a thread repair insert fitted so may be worth checking it is still 5/8 UNF.

Your right Mr 1stCar, any one know where 5/8 UNF are available? I was given mine from a saved scrap parts bin at a Jaguar specialist.

The 5/8" UNF banjo bolt Pt No: 2A715 is available from MOSS Europe or 'e' bay.

The later oil transfer pipe has the same banjo end at the block as the Marina etc vacuum take off pipe.

Hmm. I got hold of an oil transfer pipe, and fitted it into the manifold, with my banjo bolt. The mini air filter box still won't go over it. The banjo and bolt stands about 5mm proud. It's mounted on an HIF38 carb, with a heat shield off an HIF44.
So..... What other options are there? I'm reluctant to go down the K&N pancake filter route, I don't want too much induction noise.

Make a hole in the base of the air cleaner just sufficiently large enough to allow the base of the air cleaner to fit over the bolt head.
It will not effect the air cleaning ability or increase the induction noise.
The thinnest banjo union I can find which is suitable for adapting/modification to fit between the manifold and air cleaner body is 15.1mm deep - but by the time the two copper washers and the bolt are fitted they will be hitting the underside of the air cleaner body.

Good idea, why didn't I think of that? I'll have to check the bolt will clear the filter element, but I think that'll work.
