I want to change a new 1000 wing to fit a Cheese Grater body. Is there any magic required of is it just a case of plugging the indicator hole, trimming the hole round the grille and a couple of holes to be drilled?

I believe that is basically all that should be required, yes. I fitted Minor 1000 wings to my late "MM" many years ago and that was all I did.
The back end is the same on all.
