The case of the low voltmeter: Solved!

Hey gang.

Finally worked out what the problem was with the voltmeter!

After working just fine in Kate's car and reporting the right voltage the moment I stuck it in Hebe it constantly underread by about one volt.

However, just got rid of the horrible nasty fuse box and replaced it with a nice, shiny new 'spade' type, and all is well!

I guess the poor readings were due to bad connections on the fuse box between the power feed and the voltmeter!

Anyway, just though everyone would like to know. We kept saying it was the earth, but it turned out to be the opposite!
:)

Nikki.

By the way, Does anyone have any good tips for getting rid of all the spare wires on the loom after you've taken the regulator off?

;)

If they are spare because you have fitted an Alternator then it would
have been advisable to leave the box on as it makes a handy terminal
bock for the now obsolete wires!
