What is the best way to attach the beading trim to the rear wheel arches on a traveller.? I'm fitting new wings but not sure what to use .

I'm not worked on a traveller ( just saloons ) so you might need a second opinion. The beading is not usually fixed with a mastic type sealant. The bead is caught between the wing and the body of the vehicle. If using new beading you might want fix it temporarily to the wing with masking tape , to cut out either a v or u shape around the screw / bolt hole or hole punch , if screwing the wing on. Be a little generous so that the wing has some slight movement for the final fit / adjustment on the car. If the beading has absorbed a bit of a set / kink in storage you can soften it by putting it in a bowl / bucket of hot water for a few minutes. This will allow you to pull it into shape a little easier. As you nip up the fixings , push down the beading as you go to ensure a neat waterproof fit.
Some people put a bit of masking tape on the corner of the wings to prevent paint damage. Lucky people have a willing helper ( or a press ganged one ! ) to assist in holding the wing for you.

If going for the slot option you can fix the screw / bolt loosely , put the beading between and then tighten up.
Put some coppa ease on the fixings to aid future removal.

Simple: Staple gun. The beading needs to be held in place snugly against the wood until you have fitted the wing, after which it should be sandwiched. If using the original bolts with nuts embedded in the wood, then cut holes in the bead to allow the bolts to pass through. If using a more modern screw fixing straight into the wood then drilling the pilot hole will suffice.

If the wing is not a tight fit flush against the beading then you may want to use copper tacks to hold the beading as the wire staples will rust away over time.

If stapling I recommend using corrosion resistant 'monel metal'staples in your staple gun...these are cupro nickel.

Im fairly sure the trims were stapled at the Morris factory..
