If you're using a later boot lid on your series II, but want to fit the correct boot badge, how do you know where to drill the holes?

Does anyone happen to know how far down the boot badge is from the top of the boot? Any series II owners fancy popping into the garage with a measuring tape? :)

Many thanks in advance,
Jonathan

I'll do a measure-up in the morning unless someone else beats me to it. Not venturing across to the garage in this evening's monsoon conditions! I presume you're fitting the chrome ornament with the reflector incorporated?

Just measured mine. Top edge of boot lid to highest point of emblem is 30.5cm or halfway between the lowest point of the boot hinges and the top edge of the number plate surround.

Many thanks, that's perfect. Yes, it's the emblem with the reflector.

Mine is a '55 four-door very much like yours, although in Clarendon Grey.

...and grey is a bit easier than black to keep clean!
