Kalashnikov electric car

Did anyone see this on the BBC news website? They described it as 'retro'.
Looked very much like a Lada I had during the miner's strike ( brick and stone proof). They suggested it was the Russian response to a Tesla.
I reckon they should stick to making guns, although there's far too many of them around too!

Haha. The Tesla is a great looking car. That thing looks terrible! As well as being a bit Lada-like, I thought I could see shades of Mk3 Ford Zephyr from some angles. It looks like something from a cover shot of a 1970s Custom Car magazine.

Still. Good for them for trying I suppose.

Apparently it utilises the bodywork from the IZh 2125 Kombi 'sport-back', a 1980's development of the Moskvitch 427 estate car (remember them...?).

My uncle had one,delivered milk around Ilkeston in it. How much did that car stink! Sour,spilt milk and soviet era glue...
A heavy and thirsty car. Thick steel but full of rust traps. Rotted like a pear.
