MM wheel bolt holes

Well, mine look well and truly worn. In fact, the bolts seem to be bottoming out. In the absence of a spare set of rims, what about annealing a thin steel washer, forming it between wheel and nut and then heat treating it? I'd assume this used to be a regular thing, with the MM wheels being such a poor design. Failing that, does anyone have some early series 2 wheels in good condition?

Would you take off in your aeroplane if the wheels were held on like that!! :D

Similar concept to this, I guess. Not ideal but in the absence of better wheels it should work out better than any other options for now. The washer has deformed quite well into the wheel seat so I'll re-harden it later.
