Beginners question of the day.

Hello all.
I know this is a bit of noob question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.
As far as I know my 1967 Morris 1000 is completely standard. Among other things I am going to buy, one of them is a fan belt.
Are the completely standard for the 1098 engine or do they vary depending on if you have a dynamo or alternator?
The attached picture is my engine. I'm sure that's a dynamo. Is it?
Also, thanks to helpful people on here I know my paint colour/code is Dove Grey BMC GR26.
Where do you buy your paints from? I'd like both a touch up pen and aerosol based paint.
Thank you in advance once again.
Craig.

That is indeed a dynamo - as original.
One thing I can see which has been changed: The oil filter is now the "Mini type" screw-on type. A modification which many find useful.
Good luck with your car
I don't know a particularly good place for touch-up paint. I have a spray gun so i've always bought a litre can and use it for spraying with a gun and for touching up with a brush.

Thank you for your reply. Good to know.
What oil filter would I need then if it isn't the standard one?

The details should be on the oil filter canister body.

Of course. Didn't think of that. Maybe 12 hour shifts and a couple of beers is impairing my thought processes a tad!
Cheers.

Aerosol paint should be obtainable from any of the bigger Minor specialists. Touch-up pen...? Not so sure.

Their spray paint in cans matched beautifully, the touch up was less successful !

Halfords supply the filter off the shelf, hof203 is the ref. Regarding touch up paint, be aware that the colors may not match from a rattle can. You would be better going with a sample to a local supplier and get some mixed.

As regards the oil filter - I would advise that the threaded hole in the centre of the filter currently fitted is compared against the oil filter being purchased as there are at least two sizes of oil filter screw threads dependent upon the source of the screw on oil filter head.
Or as I said above take the numbers off the current oil filter - any good motor factor should be able to cross reference the numbers.

Thank you for the welcome everyone. And thanks for the link for the paint and the information on the oil filter chaps.
Will be ordering the paint today and taking a trip to Halfords later.
Cheers.
Craig.
