Fuel pipe problem

Post by Stevearniepalmer »

I've recently bought a 4 door Morris and have spent quite a lot of money having things replaced etc.
A few weeks ago the fuel pump died and was replaced including the pipe that goes to the carburettor.
Its had a few drives including a 40 minute drive from the garage back to my house yesterday.Today when I got in to start it fuel is coming out of the pipe that goes into the carburettor from the fuel pump.Im not very good with engines
Can anyone advise please.

Have you fitted the jubilee type clip to the pipe?

It may not be the pipe - it may be flooding and the excess fuel escaping from the float chamber breather which is located under the fuel pipe (HS2 type) where it enters the float chamber lid. The breather hole is covered by a shaped cover.

Had the same issue ( see post ) . It was a slack Jubilee clip on the pipe to the carb ! Hope your problem is the same , easily solved with a quick tighten up !
