Dear All
I have a Morris 1000, 1964 saloon and the sidelight part of this switch appears to have failed.
I have a replacement but non of the books/manuals document how to get access to the switch behind the dash.
Please can anyone advise on the process?
It's the switch to the right of the key on the image attached.
Many thanks
Jeremy

I would imagine that if you release the 2 screws that hold the Speedo in place, you'll slide that out and easily get to the switch.
The screws are in either glove box, accessed via the small hole. Only slacken them enough to release the clamps, or you'll be chasing dropped bits!

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Although there don't appear to be any screws on show in either glove box.

There should be a hole in each of the glove boxes top left near the front for the right hand box and top right near the front for the left hand box, looks like someone may have covered the holes with a lining. You can get to the switches by removing these glove boxes, as an alternative to removing the speedo.

Remove battery terminals, undo chrome ring on front of switch (circlip pliers if you are cheap) and feed the switch back until it drops out and falls down far enough to reach the wire terminals.

Just noticed that you have the fat-bodied heater so you'll need to manoeuver the switch or get yer hands in behind the heater. Getting the 4 visible screws (2 top, 2 bottom, possibly one extra added at the back) out of the passenger glovebox liner might be a better bet.

'Special' tool, or make your own from a bit of pipe and a file.

Thin long nose pilers

And this is where the Speedo Clamp hole should be....
