Hi,
Has anyone got any suggestions for removing hardened filler from a rubber handled screwdriver from both the handle and metal blade without damaging the screwdriver?
Thanks,
Chief.

If the rubber element of the handle is generous you might be able to gently " squeeze " the handle rubber bit enough to " crack " the filler. Wind up the vice , a little at a time and rotate a fraction each time i.e don't try it in one go. Wrap the handle in an old piece of cloth. Scrape off the remnants with a small trimming knife and clean off with a bit cloth and Meths.
Screwdriver blade , just gently scrape with a chisel , towards the handle. If the rubber element encases the end /bottom where it meets the blade consider using masking tape to protect the rubber from the chisel blade.

Thanks mogbob, sounds like a good solution to try - shame my chisel also got a bit covered by the stuff too
philthehill, where's the fun in that?! (also that would cut into my limited remaining budget too much).

Better to cut into your budget instead of your hand with a small trimming knife or chisel.
