Over 100 views and I guess nobody recognises it, so if it has fallen from your car it may be a bit of packing someone added to stop a rattle or it is from your garage door, trolley jack, barbecue, anybody’s guess.
Is it plastic or rubber?
I see the beginnings of a new game to rival the Word Association game in Off-Topic along the line of “Ask The Family” close up photo round and “Call My Bluff” Mystery object.

Similar things are used for supporting metal shelves in office cabinets.

I'm no expert but part of a bicycle carrier perhaps?

It's hard plastic and seems to be some kind of "ramp" , the cars still going and rattle free so I'll put it to one side for now.

Reminds me of my time in the teleprinter workshop , if you wanted to rattle someone , when they weren't looking you'd add a few nuts and bolts to their pile on the bench.......

After the machine was back together and a few bits were left they'd spend hours trying to figure it out....

Have you been taking rubbish to the tip using the car?
I would suggest that the item is the filler for the end of a piece of formed alloy or plastic tube.
There is a very similar item fitted into the alloy frame of my house door.

Could be someone used it to seal up the end of the rear chassis box sections, visible at the sides of the rear of the boot floor; my Traveller has little foam rectangles stuffed into the ends of these.

Any chance of a photo showing the position of the foam bungs on the Traveller please, I have been wondering about injecting some anti rust product in there at some point. I must admit I have not tried to find them yet, but would appreciate some clues where to look.

The open ends of the box sections are just to the right (O/S) and left (N/S) of the bumper mounting irons.

And the foam plugs have been on every 1098 car and traveller that I've ever worked on. Can't recall earlier cars.

2, 4 door, convertible?
Like yourself I'm new to moggies but as they spanned so many decades it might help to know.
Do you mean the garage floor external to the car or the floor of the boot where the spare wheel is, below the boot false floor?
