Headlamp rims

A while ago I bought a pair of Wipac Quadoptic headlamps to replace my flat fronted ones with defective silvering.
I was immediately reminded of the struggle I had fitting the rims last time!
They had to be pulled off at the bottom by a length of hooked welding wire in the fixing hole, replacing involved a narrow scraper to allow the rims to slip over the glass chrome.
Didn't ought to be like that did they? It's all as clean as a whistle and rust free with all the corrects parts, gaskets etc.
All waxed and greased up to aid assembly but not a pleasant job.
Lamps work well though!
