Round (Gold) Smiths Heater Refurbishment

So.. I've finally gotten round to removing the heater to try and find out why it's stopped working. I'm suspecting the brushes. But seeing as I'm going to fully dismantle it, I thought it's probably a good opportunity to refubish it a little bit.

I'm completely missing all the plastic the ducting from the heater to the windscreen demisters (MM). I'm guessing these are like hen's teeth to get hold of?

I'm going to respray the black bits with a satin black spray paint. Any recommendations for something that will withstand the heat of the heater? Similarly, I might as well respray the gold front - any recommendations for what 'colour' gold matches the original best?

Will post progress of the disassembly and reassembly..

I've never needed any but I really can't imagine plastic ducting being hard to obtain. If Morris Minor specialists don't stock it, try Mini specialists as I imagine the ducting would be the same diameter?

ESM do the gold paint in a spray can. I’ve never heard of an old round type heater getting hot enough to cause paint problems.
